About four years ago, God placed it in our hearts to adopt a baby girl from China. We started praying for her by the name of Baby Hope, asking God to keep her safe.
After filling out the massive amount of paperwork needed for an international adoption, we were finally able to send it off in October 2004. After seven months of waiting, we received our referral paperwork which told us about her and contained pictures. Her Chinese name is Fu Ai Yu which means “Blessing”, “Love,” and “Earth or Universe.” We will name her Hope Noelle Aifu.
Her birthday is June 24, 2004. So she is 10 months old. She was discovered in a public garden and taken to a local orphanage. She had her exam on December 30, 2004 when she was 6 months old. At that time, she was 21 pounds and 27 inches long! She had several layers of clothes on in her picture, so she looks a little pudgier than she actually is–except for that cute, pudgy face, of course!
This adoption has been a walk of faith in God for us--a challenge to do something that He has asked us to do. In our own abilities, we would not be able to do this. But we are trusting God to provide what we need to complete this adoption. www.hopescandleshop.com is one way you can help us, since the proceeds from the sales of candles and accessories on this site will help us to complete the funding of our adoption of Baby Hope!
